What you'll do:
We are delighted to announce that we are recruiting externally for 2 full time and 2 part-time Trainee Train Drivers, expected to start in Autumn 2022. In this job, you will be responsible for driving our passenger trains along our route during our daily Peak service. The railway is an ever changing industry with increasing demands and as technology moves forward so do we whilst maintaining safety and standards. Part time post: a flexible approach is required to cover a rotating shift pattern of early and late shifts. Early shifts 04.00am - 11.30am, late shifts are - 14.30pm - 21.30pm. You will be working 20hrs a week, four days out of seven, average of 5hrs per day. During the training period £29,153.00. Rises to £36,216.00 once qualified.
Full time post: a flexible approach is required to cover a rotating shift pattern of early and late shifts. An early start could be approx 03.00am, a late turn could finish approx 02.00am. You will be working 35 a week, four days out of seven (inc weekends) an average turn length (ATL) is approx 8.45 hrs. During the training period £29,153.00. Rises to £63,378.00 once qualified.
You must live within 60mins travel of our East Ham depot, as you are required to get to the depot and home by your own means

Things to consider:
There are 3 stages to the recruitment campaign. The application process involves shortlisted candidates partaking in two psychometric assessment centres, which includes a range of psychometric, reaction and concentration tests. You may be asked to attend these days at short notice. The assessments centre’s will be taking place in April and May 2022. Candidates who meet the required pass standard will then be invited to a face to face interview with our Driver Management team.
Any offer of employment is subject to a candidate passing the current Train Driver medical standard including (but not limited to) eyesight, hearing, ECG testing, drugs and alcohol screening, a DBS (disclosure barring system check), referencing and a right to work in the UK check. Potential candidates should also note that random drug and alcohol tests may be performed at any time throughout your career at c2c
